Susan Gold
“untitled” – Collage
Canada
I studied at the Maryland College of Art in Baltimore Maryland. I received a B.A. in Multidisciplinary Studies from Monteith College (1967) followed by an MA in Visual Arts (1970), both from Wayne State University in Detroit. I am now Emeritus Professor of Visual Arts at the University of Windsor, Windsor Ontario.
My studio approach is multidisciplinary. I am responding to a natural phenomenon that is framed or represented by our cultural understanding. I collect these responses in photographic form and work with the resulting images in the studio. Sometimes I work directly on the photo, sometimes with
painting, collage or assembly.
