Vikki Drummond
“That Time the World Became Still” – mixed media on paper
Canada
“Vikki's current work explores surface with her flattened imagery and story through the primitive, bold, distorted form she uncovers. She strives to represent our human struggles with the tension between our interior and exterior worlds. She hopes the viewer will experience a recognition.”
Vikki is a visual artist living in the Okanagan. She always loved the sound and feel of a pencil. Realistic charcoal drawing work gave way to paint and more primitive line when a high school attempt at Drafting proved too structured. Vikki enrolled in the Fine Arts program at Okanagan College but left after one semester to follow a boy into the Business program. She then spent many years in Sales and Marketing until she finally left to have her second child. One day she just began to paint again.
